“Import and Transfer PfVs” Workflow
“Import and Transfer PfVs” Workflow
The “Import and Transfer PfVs” module is designed for architects and BIM coordinators to import PfVs provided by MEP engineers—including both geometry and associated parameters. EasyVoids supports input with both .rvt and .ifc formats.
In real-world BIM projects, MEP engineers often come from different companies and may deliver PfVs created in various software platforms with inconsistent parameter names. While BIM Managers can enforce standardized naming through IDM or IDS specifications, discrepancies still common occur.
EasyVoids addresses this by providing this function module to unify and map all incoming PfV data into a standardized format, ensuring consistency for penetration and recess planning.
Make sure the coordinates of the input model is setup correctly.
Make sure the ifc parameter ”IFC Predefined Type” is set to “PROVISIONFORVOID”.

There are two technical way for transfer PfVs, each with its own advantages and limitations. The solution depends on the CDE platform and the BIM coordination workflow defined for your project.

When importing and transferring a PfV model from MEP engineers, the first step is to configure the input parameters. Since input models may use different parameter names for the same data—and may also vary in parameter types
The “Param.Config” button allows you to map input parameter names and types to the corresponding EasyVoids parameters, ensuring compatibility and proper data transfer.
